“What are medical studies all about?” teacher asked.

“Sir, medical studies deal with human body science.” Boy shouts.

“Good! Now can anybody answer me what engineering is?” teacher questions again.

“It’s a skill of inventing and innovating products” answer comes from another bright student

“Can anybody answer me the difference between the two?”

No answer.

“Ok. Engineering is skill and science whereas medical studies have skill, science and art in it”

But, talking about management, management has skill, science, art and much more in it and about it.

It studies about human behaviors, which is most unpredictable thing known in today’s world and is capricious in other words. B-school is all about enlightening, nourishing and polishing all management skills, which he can possess and more!

An important aspect of management is marketing. Marketing is nothing but strategically seeking a method to reach the sale target of a product. In layman’s word marketing is nothing but a technique of selling your product. Marketing requires usage of various analytical and statistical tools. It uses various techniques like depth customer analysis, market segmentation, market quantification include competitive analysis and reactions, target segment selection, market positioning and more.

The basic requirement for a firm, to run its product is to have a good marketing strategy of its product. The most common mean of a good marketing strategy is commercials. By commercial a firm can convey its message clearly and directly in any mode in which they are interested. The strategy should be direct, easy to understand but the same time, it should be appealing and potential customer should connect to it very easily. A brand ambassador can be used, but in such way, that people should take interest on brand also, not only at brand ambassador!

It is a very famous saying that says marketing is all about selling hair oil to a bald person!

In today’s world of instant communication, selling anyone, anything is nearly possible due to effective marketing. Number of products are targeting same segment of customers to sell them! In this level of antagonism, only product with high quality, low price and appealing brand image hits bull’s eye. The product which meets customer expectations and delights them becomes his eye candy and ensures long term association.

Marketing world is calling you if you can sell such hair oil. It does not need aggressive salespersons but smart thinkers who make relevant and smart marketing stratagem. If you think you have those qualities, just go out and realize, marketing world is eagerly waiting for you!
