The saddest aspect of life right now is that science gathers knowledge faster than society gathers wisdom. - Isaac Asimov, Isaac Asimov's Book of Science and Nature Quotations, 1988
We've arranged a civilization in which most crucial elements profoundly depend on science and technology. We have also arranged things so that almost no one understands science and technology. This is a prescription for disaster. We might get away with it for a while, but sooner or later this combustible mixture of ignorance and power is going to blow up in our faces. - Carl Sagan
Technological progress has merely provided us with more efficient means for going backwards. - Aldous Huxley
The exponential growth of science & technology is tremendous in last three centuries. But we really don't know where this progress leads us. I had studied Raymond Kurzweil's work pertaining to technology. He attempts to give us a glimpse into what awaits us in the near future. His reasoning rests on the combination of four postulates i.e technological singularity, law of accelerating returns & exponential rate, quantifiable functionality of human brain, and long life due to medical advancements.
Are we really wiser now?
Or
We are struggling in the web of technology!
