It feels wonderful that you have a lot of opportunities all around you, consultants calling and lot of mails from all the to job portals. The apathy is the hit ratio, I wonder if the HR of the companies actually read the CV’s or they just move it on referral. The worst part is you never get the honest feedback. The scope for improvement is lost as there is no one to tell you how good or how bad you are.
I wonder if we could have the right and liberty to know as to why my application rejected.
In many cases they would not consider many candidates just because they are not BE/ B-tech graduates. I wonder how it would really matter for a job which has its own pre-defines roles and responsibilities.
The selection procedure is not the same in countries like Singapore or US, where they are tested and given an opportunity only on the sheer skills and competency.
I believe at the end of the day that is what really matters, is the guy able to perform or not is a fit or a misfit in terms of attitude and behavior.
In the process of such a selection process many truly talented would lose the right oppurtunity.

i agree with the comments and it is a nice topic on the debate. one thing can be done that the companies must give a chance to those candidates even if they are not suitable for job means there is some lacking like communication skills on the condition the company would provide training to them by not giving any thing in return for a suitable duration and after training if they are not able to get what they have to do the company would leave them and they have to quit the company.and atleast tell them that why they have rejected their applications in order to help the candidate to improve their weaker areas.

Mr.Raghu, you are 100ight...recently there was an article in Deccan Chronicle which depicts about the hiring process that HR follows. The summary is that, most HR professionals now turning to "CTRL F" factor..where they place a file of requisite data (provided by the client) and other side there will be resume files... They use this FIND functional key to do this. These HR personal, lack the focus on the candidate resume completely(as most of them are not trained with respect to the industry standards). keeping interest of targets to be completed..they use this find out functions ..to coverup there daily job.

I fully agree with Raghu Nandan. In many companies, HR people are incompetent these days. Everything depends on Face Value of the candidate. A candidate is judged on the basis of some stereotyped questions. There are some companies where a completely illogical question is asked, which is funny. If someone is good looking, he is selected. If someone looks confident (which he tries to show during interview), he is selected. The end result of such recruitments is high attrition rate in that company. Even though your interview went good, and HR tells you that you are not selected, they don't tell you why you failed in the interview. If they tell you genuinely, you can better yourself for next interview somewhere else. HR is a very sensitive thing. HR people should be very experienced ones as they were in the past. HR should first carefully go through the CV and see what all potentials a particular candidate has which he can fulfil if he is recruited.

hi guys this seems a nice topic to debate. in india preference is given to qualification which you carry on your resume. being a hr i make sure that i give the honest feed back to the candidate who has come for interview. what i feel is there should be more counselling centers in our sorrunding so that before making a career decision we should have sound knowledge of our interest and about goal in life .

I fully support Mr. Raghunandan's views. Its high time that the companys should really understand this and do something very seriously.
