Here are some of my views on how to break the ice. share your views as to how you would do it in an environment where you know no one at the party / networking event ! For approaching a stranger and wishing him you need to first - have a positive frame of mind present a cheerful disposition Showing interest in others Genuinely keen to strike a conversation Make a beginning do not wait for others to wish you start yourself and say "Hi" Introduce about yourself and give your visiting cards (carry them in plenty) Ask few questions and listen carefully to the answers.
